QUALITY CODE
While in other professions quality or safety standards (like ISO standards) exist (and compliance guarantees an adequate level of service offered to the client) such standards do not exist in interpreting. In fact, interpreting is not regulated in Greece, which means that anybody can claim to be an interpreter. This is why a client who gets quotes from various interpreting agencies for the same job does not have an objective basis on which to judge them and has to resort to comparing prices. The different quotes frequently vary so much that the client starts to suspect that something is wrong. The reality is that big differences in price usually reflect big differences in quality of the services offered.
In 1to1-LINGUA, in order to help our potential client to judge our work and compare us with others, we have elaborated a simple, clear and very strict quality code that we abide by in all our transactions. It puts our philosophy into practice and renders our services more transparent:
We comply with AIIC rules (the most stringent world-wide) relative to working conditions, professional ethics, obligations vis-a-vis the client and confidentiality.
We offer a unique in Greece money-back no-questions-asked guarantee.
We only work with colleagues who fulfill at least 4 of the following conditions:
1. They are AIIC members or abide by its rules.
2. They have a minimum 250 interpreting days experience.
3. They have a university degree.
4. They have received interpreting training at a post-graduate level.
5. They are accredited by at least one international body such as the European Commission, the UN etcetera.
We offer our clients the right to read (and possibly approve beforehand) the CVs of the colleague(s) who will work for them.
In our quotes we distinguish between "interpreting fees", "administrative fees" and "equipment expenses" in order to improve transparency.
